Margaret River has long been renowned as an ideal home for Cabernet Sauvignon. Lauded as the ‘King of Margaret River’, Cabernet Sauvignon has launched the region into the minds of wine drinkers from all corners of the globe. We like to think our Moses Rock Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 has helped the cause, winning a trophy for Best in Show by Varietal at the London Wine Competition. Going up against not just the best wineries in Margaret River, but from all over the world, our Moses Rock Cabernet Sauvignon has come out on top. We couldn’t be prouder of this result.
2019 was quite a challenging vintage with unexpected rainfall events in our Margaret River vineyards during the harvest period, however with careful vineyard management the fruit was able to ripen slowly, well and truly meeting the expectations of this truly unique and stunning region. An elegant Cabernet, it has aromas of blackberry, sage leaf, mint and cocoa. The palate showcases flavours of plum, forest fruits and mocha, with some underlying herbaceous savoury notes. Integrated oak characters complement the fruit, leading to fine tannins with good persistence.
Australian reviewers are also enjoying our Moses Rock Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 – Ken Gargett from Wine Pilot wrote: “This is a finely balanced wine and should have a long and exciting future ahead of it... A wine which impresses on every level and which is true to both its origins and its variety.”, while Sam Kim from Wine Orbit called it “Beautifully styled and complex… splendidly harmonious and structured with a lengthy delectable finish.” This is sure to be a sell-out wine, so grab a bottle while it is still available!
