Rory Parks is the head winemaker at Moss Brothers, and after 20 years amongst the soil, the vines and the barrels in the Margaret River wine region, comes with a wealth of hands-on winemaking experience and a great passion for the art of winemaking. His role spans across all areas of viticulture and winemaking.
With an eye on everything from vineyard to glass he is responsible for influencing, nurturing and refining the very best that our growers produce. Rory is proud to be part of a great team who share his focus in both our Margaret River vineyard and the winery. As he says;
‘Our wines are powerful, approachable and expressive. Every wine is a reflection of the uniqueness of place and personality that comprises the entirety of the Margaret River wine region.This renowned area produces uniquely blended and vibrant Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, generously textured Chardonnay and powerful and elegant Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz wines.’
Beyond the Margaret River wine region, our Western Australian wines start life in the vineyards clustered in the state’s cooler, coastal, south western corner which has a terroir more akin to Bordeaux. The most successful grape varieties here reflect this, and Rory, in turn, crafts our delicious wines from the best regional parcels from across the jewels of our West Australian wine domains. Wines that are an exciting reflection of the vineyards from which they came.
‘They are expressive wines with elegance, flavour, balance and style.’
Rory lives with his partner and young energetic family in the Margaret River wine region, dreaming of the vines and the famous waves. And when he can’t get to the surf, he competes in his local underwater hockey team.
