NOSE
Lifted aromatics of pear drops and honeysuckle with a hint of vanilla.
PALATE
Barrel maturation gives complexity and texture. The flavours of quince, peach, preserved lemon, and brioche are carried through to a long finish.
FOOD PAIRING
Crispy skinned Peking Duck with honey and five-spice glaze and pancakes.
VINTAGE NOTES
A cool spring resulted in a slightly later harvest. Higher-than-average summer temperatures in January and February assisted in ripening but also resulted in bunch variation between each vine. The portion of the fruit for this wine was sourced from a single vineyard site near Metricup Road; shoot thinning, leaf plucking, and a vigorous green fruit drop resulted in a wine with excellent concentration and flavour profile.
